POLYACTYL CATS
are "digitally enhanced" felines. Normal cats have five front toes and four back toes. Polyactyl cats are sometimes called "bigfoots", "mitten cats", "cats with thumbs" or "Hemingway cats". Ernest Hemingway was a cat lover. He was given a six-toed cat by a ship's captain and some of the cats who live on his museum grounds are descendants of that original cat.
